We don't know if you've returned to normal internet activities yet following the election, but if you did and are reading this, tonight the Penguins (9-2-2) will host the Minnesota Wild (6-4-1) in what should be a somewhat subpar boring matchup.
The Penguins are red hot and currently riding a seven game point streak, going (6-0-1) during that stretch. Speaking of red hot, the Penguins currently have four players with at least 10+ points, including Sidney Crosby who missed the first six games due to a concussion. The Wild are led by defenseman Ryan Suter, who leads the team in points with ten. Zach Parise is doing typical Zach Parise things, he's already missed three games this season and has just six points in eight games. Never forget when all of us were on #PariseWatch.
The Penguins are coming off an Election Night victory against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. The Penguins won 4-3 thanks to a two goal performance from forward Conor Sheary. The Wild start a three game road trip tonight and are coming off 1-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche way back on Saturday, so needless to say they should be fresh tonight.
The Wild are now coached by former Ducks / Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau. This means within a few years the Wild will be regular season heroes and go on to lose in either the first or second round of the playoffs. Right, Bruce?
*We anticipate Fleury starting tonight, so obviously if Murray does start we'll fix it. Settle down.*
*Stripes will be updated closer to game time, maybe.*
We're sad to report that Phil Kessel did not win the popular vote, however Harambe had over 15,000 so, well done America.
The Penguins have sent defenseman Chad Ruhwedel back to Wilkes-Barre and have recalled forward Tom Sestito.
No clue why they sent Sestito down anyway, it was not like Ruhwedel was going to ever play.
Per the Minnesota Wild website, center Erik Haula could return tonight, he practiced yesterday. Stay tuned.
Matt Cullen is from Minnesota and took almost 7 years this offseason to resign with the Penguins after mulling over an offer to play for the Wild.
The Penguins will be honoring military heroes tonight, so that means camo jerseys and an empty 'Seat of Honor' to pay respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Like I wrote, we expect Fleury in net tonight but since we expect him to start, Murray will obviously start because that's how life is.
Wait, Dave Molinari of the Post Gazette shared a video on Twitter of Daniel Sprong working out, remember him!?!?!
@kingling43 and I will be at the game tonight, come say hello to us. Or not. Up to you.
Eric Staal still looks like an alien with that big helmet.
It's the Minnesota Wild, not sure what else I could possibly write.
Oh wait, we get a 50 Year t-shirt tonight. LETS GOOOOOOOO.
LOL that helmet
Do it. Go Pens.
