The Penguins (20-7-3) are currently the best team in hockey standings wise, as they recorded their 20th victory of the season, thanks in part to a Bryan Rust backhand shot that beat goaltender Tuukka Rask and the Boston Bruins (16-12-3) in overtime last night at PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins were led by future Norris Trophy candidate defenseman Justin Schultz, who tallied a goal and two assists last night. Over his last eight games Justin Schultz has been unreal, tallying 5 goals, 7 assists for a total of 12 points, and a +/- rating of +12. However, we were told long ago, that Justin Schultz was the "worst defenseman in the league."
The Penguins continue to roll and have now won seven straight games. During this seven game winning streak, the Penguins have scored 39 goals which averages down to 5.57 goals per game. That's unreal.
