The LA Kings are in bad shape. Currently sitting in the final wild card spot in the Western Conference at 15-12-2, the Kings recently learned that they would be without giant baby goalie Johnathan Quick until February or March. That means they are going to have to roll with Jeff Zatkoff and Petr Budaj in net for the time being. Penguins fans should be familiar with Jeff Zatkoff. If you aren't here is a reminder. He was Marc-Andre Fleury's back up last season, was awful at it, but when it mattered got a big win in game 1 against the Rangers. Zatkoff is currently 2-5-0 this season and just picked up his 2nd win of the season last night in the Kings 4-1 win over Detroit. So expect to see Petr Budaj tonight who is 13-7-2. Jeff Carter had an interesting quote after a recent loss. He said:
Yikes. Some one should probably get him some help. $5 million dollar 4th liner Dustin Brown could probably use some help too because we all know how special he is.
An oldy but always a goody. If you live under a rock or are trying to help Dustin Brown or any of the other mouth breathing neanderthal Kings find the rest of their brains, you heard that Kris Letang will be out for a couple of weeks with an upper-body injury. The Penguins recalled Derrick Pouliot as well yesterday. No word on how many celebratory beers he had after being recalled.
The Penguins are scoring a lot of goals if you haven't heard. They have scored 54 goals in their last 11 games. Some teams have barely scored more than 50 this entire season thus far.
Justin Schultz may literally be God. We've never seen them in the same place so it's possible. He has been unreal since joining the Penguins last season. Currently he has 5 goals and 12 assists this season and is a plus 18 (even though plus/minus is a horrible stat). Schultz's pairing with Ian Cole has been very solid for the majority of the year. Expect him and Trevor Daley to pick up some of the workload with Kris Letang absent.
Thank Gid this game is at Consol so we don;t have to listen to Cartman yell "GO KINGS GO" 69 million times.
Dustin Brown shot Harambe. Bob McKenzie confirmed.
To be 100% honest, it's pretty disappointing not getting to face Johnathan Quick this season. His temper tantrums after teams score are the best.
Sidney Crosby is also the best.
So is Phil Kessel, who if you didn't hear, is a Stanley Cup Champion.
WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks is going to be in attendance tonight. That's more important than this stupid game.
