The day you've all been waiting for this season is finally here. Today is the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series game at Heinz Field. Food will be eaten, beers will be drank, and yet the Flyers still haven't won a Stanley Cup in 42 years. 65,000+ will pack inside of Heinz Field to watch hockey, One Repu....uhhh I mean Train now, yeah Train. The Flyers were good at one point this year, remember their fans claiming their like 10 game winning streak would guarentee them a Cup this year? Pepperidge Farm remembers. As you've noticed, we haven't typically gotten too fired up for regular season games this year, but an outdoor game against the team we hate the most, we're a little bit excited for this one. The last time these two teams met, Sidney Crosby absolutely embarassed the shit out of Steve Mason, which is probably why Flyers coach Dave Hakstol has named Michel Neuvirth the starter for today. HCMS hasn't yet named the Penguins starter today, but one would assume Matt Murray will get the nod. Ron Hainsey (who the Penguins acquired on Thursday) will make his Penguins debut. Ron Hainsey gets the notion of being the NHL player with the most career games played without ever playing in the playoffs.
Jakub Voracek may or may not be hurt. He supposedly died on Thursday at practice, so we should probably expect him to play today. If you see a Flyers fan today overcelebrating a hit by Wayne Simmonds or a penalty drawn because Braden Schenn dove better than most Olympic divers, just remember that this game is their Super Bowl. Flyers fans haven't had much to cheer for other than hoping for a Crosby injury or booing Santa Claus (that might've been Eagles fans but who gives a shit). You'll probably remember about 6.9 seconds into this game about how annoying Braden Schenn is, how much of a baby Claude Giroux is, how Shayne Gostisbehere is average at best. There was a lot of orange walking around Pittsburgh yesterday and that should annoy you. More after lines and shit.
*we probably won't have the Stripes posted because tailgating*
The Flyers have healthy scratched Shayne Gostisbehere more than once this year. LOL
Justin Schultz and Kris Letang are Game-Time Decisions
Ron Hainsey makes his Penguins debut
It might snow tonight. klfdkafkjldajkfkdjas
We will be tailgating in the Science Center Lot.
Braden Schenn couldn't shut down an iPhone
Remember that one time Sean Cutoeroiwaoir was an elite center?
Remember when Claude Giroux grabbed that cops ass?
Have you ever seen the Flyers win the cup?
Get your damn minds right.
