After being hungover from the Stadium Series, not caring about a game against the Dallas Stars and with March finally on us, we're back and we'll hopefully be more consistent bringing you content. The NHL Trade Deadline was today and the Penguins are in a Wednesday Night Rivalry game in Chicago. We all know Pens-Blackhawks games are fun so this one should rank up there. The Blackhawks have the best goal horn-song combination in the league so that's one thing to look forward to.
The Blackhawks acquired Johnny Oduya yesterday from the Dallas Stars but he won't be in the lineup for them tonight. Scott Darling will be in net for the Hawks as Corey Crawford is apparently still hurt or something. Chicago sits 2nd in the awful Central Division and have pretty much already clinched a playoff berth as no one else is even close to them or Minnesota in that division. Former greatest player in the NHL Jonathan Toews is now only 46th in the NHL in scoring so that's better than when he was in the 100s or whatever. Tonight is a true test of leadership between the greatest leader of them all, Jonathan Toews and Sidney Crosby. We'll warn the ladies of Pittsburgh to be careful on the South Side later this month when Chicago comes to town because we all know Patrick Kane will be lurking somewhere, we all know he doesn't take No for an answer...
We'll tell you what the Penguins did at the deadline today in #Gamenotes. No idea who is starting for the Penguins tonight, but Marc-Andre Fleury wasn't traded today so he might get the nod. Get ready and fahred up for Wednesday Night Rivalry!L!@#@! Also, expect Artemi Panarin to score because why not.
The Penguins traded Eric Fehr, Steve Olesky, and a 2017 4th Round Pick to Toronto for Frankie Corrado.
Corrado was sent to WBS
The Penguins traded a 2018 4th Round pick to Tampa Bay for Mark Streit
Tampa Bay retained 50% of Streit's contract
Tampa got Streit from Philly like an hour before this (Philly retained 4.7% of Streit's contract)
Derrick Pouliot was called up today.
Hopefully Cameron Gaunce was sent to the moon.
No clue which goalie starts tonight.
Pens play 16 games in the next 31 days
No word on if any girls were harmed in Wrigleyville last night since the Blackhawks were off and Patrick Kane was in town.
There's a Taco Bell that sells alcohol like 3 feet from the United Center so that's cool
Chelsea Dagger into the night
Pens-Blackhawks SCF would be fun.
