It has been 352 days since Nick Bonino ended the Capitals season in overtime giving PPG Paints Arena one of its first signature moments. Since that fateful evening in May the Penguins raised another Stanley Cup banner to their rafters while the Capitals raised the trade deadline champion banner to theirs. The Craps won the Presidents Trophy, once again dominating the regular season, which has historically worked out well for Washington's local hockey team. If their is any silver lining for the Capitals it is that Donald Trump is now in the White House *when he is not out golfing* so the Capitals will no longer be the biggest disappointment in Washington DC.
For the most part not much has changed for either team since last season other than Brooks Orpik getting another year older and another year slower. The Capitals did acquire Kevin Shitenkirk at the trade deadline, however Daniel Winnik and ISIS supporter Tom Wilson are also still on the team. The Penguins on the other hand are obviously without Kris Letang and Matt Murray. The Penguins were able to survive half the season without Kris Letang and they do have Marc-Andre Fleury. GMJR built a deep team for this exact reason, the big test is here.

Tom Wilson did 9/11
Carl Hagelin was a full participant in practice today
Who knows if he will play. If not, tweet your complaints for @kingling43
I am mad
Look for Alexander Ovechkin to get away with illegal charging penalties all series
Be on the lookout for Daniel Winnik's bodyguard on twitter
Once again all the pressure is on the Capitals. They have a lot of guys on expiring contracts, it will be a crazy summer if they blow it again.
TJ Oshie is a communist
