Tomorrow or today, depending upon when you're reading this, the Penguins make their annual visit to the White House to visit with the President of the United States. Last year they visited with Barack Obama, and that trip was expedited to just before the start of season as Obama was basically a lame duck in the wait. While this years visit is early, it shouldn't come as issue, as they are doing it before they play the Hillary Clinton equivalent of a hockey team, the Washington Capitals, aka the runner up. Sure this visit is controversial, BUT lets be real here for a second. No matter the decision, no one was going to be happy.
Expect it to be everyone minus the new guys on the current team. For Trump? TBD.
After winning the Cup in June, Pens CEO David Morehouse said that they would accept the invitation to go.
Mind you that Morehouse worked under Bill Clinton, and owner Ron Burkle is a democratic supporter.
Invitation was accepted last month.
Expect a whole lot of jam today on both Facebook and Twitter.
IMO, just grab a whole lot of popcorn, and sit back and relax.
Both Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel spoke about the visit after practice.
Crosby said that this visit wasn't about politics.
*watches the outrage over that comment*
