After shocking the world on Thursday by winning a road game against the Ottawa Senators, the Penguins (11-7-3) will look to make it three straight wins when they host the Chicago Blackhawks (9-8-2) tonight at PPG Paints Arena with puck drop set for just after 7:00PM.
The Penguins have come along way since losing to Chicago 10-1 way back on October 5th but needless to say I'm sure they'll remember that game tonight. Speaking of coming a long way, the Penguins are 3-1-1 over their last five games and have yet to lose in regulation at home this season, going 6-0-1 on the year. However, the Blackhawks have won seven straight games against the Penguins, holding Pittsburgh to just nine goals in those seven games. Yikes.
The Blackhawks are coming off a 6-3 win against the New York Rangers on Wednesday, scoring five goals in the third to put the game away. The Penguins are coming off a 3-1 road win against the Ottawa Senators. A win that I, myself would have never expected, especially with the way this season has played out so far.
Duncan Keith is expected to play tonight although he missed the last few practices due to illness.
Antti Niemi just let up another goal, it's now 11-1 Blackhawks.
Matt Murray is 40-6-4 at PPG Paints Arena. Think about that for a second.
Since allowing goals in that 10-1 loss to Chicago back on October 5th, Matt Murray is 11-4.
Surprised this game isn't being played outdoors because you know, Blackhawks and Penguins.
In eight career starts against the Pittsburgh Penguins Corey Crawford is 7-1-0 with a 1.57 GAA and a .949 save percentage (240/253). That's pretty good.
Our Friendsgiving is tomorrow, so nothing really matters until then. We're going to drink a lot, eat a lot, and watch a lot of football.
Lol #tbt to Marian Hossa being allergic to his own equipment and the Blackhawks getting salary cap relief for him missing a season. Good times.
Matt Hunwick will probably play tonight after missing the last 5343 games with a concussion.
Never forget when Patrick Kane broke the hearts of Flyers fans everywhere.
