Nine months ago these two teams met in the Eastern Conference Finals. Fast forward to the present and these two teams couldn't have gone on more different paths. Since a slow start to the season the Penguins have turned it on as of late and are now breathing down the Caps necks for the top spot in the Metrosexual Division. The Senators on the other hand? They have the 2nd worst record in the Eastern Conference behind Buffalo. So that means they are gonna beat the Pens by 12 tonight. The Senators thought they were building on last years success when the acquired Matt Duchene in a 3 team trade. That hasn't quite worked out the way the Senators had hoped. The Penguins are coming off of getting 3 points over the weekend after a shootout loss in Dallas and a 4-1 win in St. Louis where we saw Sidney Crosby finally notch his 400th career goal.
Riley Sheahan has goals in back-to-back games and now has ten points (3 goals, 7 assists) since January 1st.
Conor Sheary fell down 57 times while we were typing this post.
Like we said earlier Sid finally got his 400th goal Sunday afternoon in St. Louis. It only took him 69 games to finally score after getting 399.
The first and second best defensemen in the league, Justin Schultz and Erik Karlsson will be on the ice tonight so that should be fun.
Derick Brassard would look really good in a Penguins uniform.
Thank God Chirs Neil doesn't play for the idiots any more.
Three cheers for Ottawa!
