Game two of the Derick Brassard era. The Penguins travel to Boston to take on the Bruins from T.D. Garden with puck drop set for just after 7:00PM. The Pens are coming off a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Pittsburgh (36-24-4, 76 points) sits in 6th place in the East and 3rd in the Metro, while Boston (38-15-8, 84 points) sits in 3rd in the East and in 3rd in the Atlantic.
Both teams made moves at or around the trade deadline with the Pens picking up center Derick Brassard and the Bruins trying to party like its 2009. The Bruins picked up aging Rick Nash from the garbage fire known as the New York Rangers (more on them in a bit) and they signed half dead Brian Gionta who just had played in the Olympics for Team USA in which he was bad. Actually beyond bad. Like shoot him and leave him for dead thats how bad he was. Nash somehow scored in his second game for Boston, not that it matters since Tampa Bay has decided to screw the rest of the East over with the trade they made with the garbage fire that is the Rangers acquiring defenseman Ryan McDonagh and forward JT Miller (see, I told you they would be mentioned again). Boston was supposed to be getting younger, instead they get two guys with the combined age of 72.
The Pens will be without ZAR (Zach Aston-Reese) for the foreseeable future as he is out long term with an upper-body injury. They will also be without Matt Murray again as he is out with a concussion. Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith will handle the goaltending duties for the future.
Brassard should score tonight tbqh.
Maybe Hunwick will die tonight.
Bruins center Patrice Bergeron is out with a broken foot. The injury happened Saturday when he decided to block a shot against the Maple Leafs.
Conor Sheary is truly terrible at hockey and should be shot to the sun.
We pissed a lot of Devils fans off following the Penguins last game. They were not happy.
The Penguins have lost two games in a row.
Their loss to the Devils Tuesday snapped an 11 game home ice winning streak, the team hadn't lost in seven weeks on home ice.
The Bruins are 6-4-0 over their last ten but Rick Nash actually has helped them, which is something he hasn't done for a team in years.
Expect Casey DeSmith again tonight, likely against Tuukka Rask.
Lol Tommy Wingels is a Bruin too.
Penguins are 0-2 in the post Ian Cole / Ryan Reaves era.
Brassard might score eight goals tonight.
Beer Cans EASHL team can also burn in hell. Making me switch uniforms when Im the home team. SMH.
Tom Brady sucks.
