After a well deserved day off, the Penguins (42-27-5) are back in action again tonight when they square off against Taylor Hall and the New Jersey Devils (37-28-8) from PPG Paints Arena with puck drop set for just after 7:00PM.
The Penguins beat the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night by a score of 5-3. Casey DeSmith stood tall in net (for the most part) despite a rather slow start by the Penguins. That game had everything. A penalty shot to open the game by Derick Brassard, a fight involving two grown ass men, Jamie Oleksiak and Michael McCarron, a linesman getting his hand destroyed, another penalty shot, this time by a Canadiens player...and lastly, Sidney Crosby.

The Devils are coming off a 6-2 loss against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday and will conclude their six game road trip with the game in Pittsburgh tonight. The Devils currently sit seven points back of the Penguins and have a one point lead over the Florida Panthers for the second wild card spot. Despite losing their last two games, New Jersey is 2-0 against the Penguins this season and they usually find a way to make me very, very mad. I would expect goaltender Keith Kinkaid to be in net tonight, partly because he's started both games against the Penguins this season and has yet to lose, but also because goaltender Cory Schneider straight up sucks. Listen to this statistic per NorthJersey.com, in his last 11 starts, Schenider is 0-9-2 with a .868 saver percentage. Yikes.
The Penguins figure to go back to Matt Murray who will make his second start since his concussion. Following his goal Wednesday against the Habs, Derick Brassard now has points in four straight. Forwards Zach Aston-Reese and Dominik Simon also resumed skating earlier this week. The Penguins are getting healthy and good again. Folks, buckle up.
The Devils are still a boring team, at least we can't get blocked / suspended on Twitter by that Devils super fan again for saying that.
Devils forward Taylor Hall is pretty good, he's got 32 goals and 46 points on the season for 78 points.
Michael Grabner still sucks for not coming to the Penguins.
Miles Wood could return versus the Penguins, he's been out since getting injured Friday against the Ducks. That guy makes me mad.
Sidney Crosby recorded his 700th assist last game. It didn't matter during that game because everyone's jaw was still dropped watching that goal he scored on Carey Price.
I fully expect the Devils to dominate this game because that'd be the most Penguins thing ever.
