Today the Penguins travel to Philadelphia for Game 3 of this best of seven series. Right now this series is tied at 1-1. The Flyers evened up the series thanks in part to a couple of lucky bounces. To say that the Penguins were bad on Friday night isn't necessarily correct. The Pens played well, but didn't get the breaks. Two hit posts, Crosby misses two golden chances, a breakaway and shot through the crease late in the second. They're still the better team, but todays an important game. Game 3s are traditionally a swing game, so should the Pens win here, they'll be right back in the driver seat.
Still pissed that Patric Hornqvist managed to get called for embellishment last game.
Aside from goal reviews, Wes McCauley is still trash.
Dating back to the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs, when the Pens have lost Game 2 at home after winning Game 1, the have bounced back to win Game 3, 3-0 record in those games. (NYI 2013, CBJ 2014, and NYR 2016)
In no surprise, Claude Giroux received no supplemental discipline from the league regarding his hit on Kris Letang Friday night.
Still not sure how Letang wasn't concussed on the play.
Tbt to Nolan Patrick crashing into the boards on his own.
