After another near perfect performance in Philadelphia, the Penguins return home with their foot firmly on the Flyers throats with a 3-1 series lead. Other than the first ten minutes of Game 3, the Penguins fed the Flyers their balls in both games in Philadelphia out scoring the Flyers 10-1 over the last two games. The Flyers were dealt a fatal blow in between games three and four when Radko Gudas absolutely obliterated Sean COurbifsdcuntkfsdjfnskdjf's knee during practice. The Flyers were down easily their most important player and it showed. The Penguins came out and were skating circles around the Flyers who seemed totally uninterested. The Penguins opened the scoring on an absolutely absurd pass from Sidney Crosby to Evgeni Malkin who ripped a one timer to give the Pens a 1-0 lead. The Flyers finally realized the game started and controlled play for a couple of minutes but that all came to a screeching halt when Evgeni Malkin connected with my President, Phil Kessel, who blew one by Elliott to give the Pens the 2-0 lead. That score would hold until the 2nd period. Kris Letang had approximately 69420911 days to shoot the puck and he ripped one top shelf to make the score 3-0. It was at that point that Flyers coach Dave Hakstol decided it was a better idea to play MIchael Neuvirth than someone that sometimes resembles an actual NHL goalie. This may surprise you, but things didn't get better for the Flyers. Neuvirth completely lost sight of the puck and by the time he figured out where it was his teammate was digging the puck out of the net after another Sidney Crosby wraparound. The Penguins would add another in the 3rd when Riley Sheahan scored on the alley oop play from the second Mighty Ducks movie to make the score 5-0.
Penguins look to advance to the next round with puck drop set for just after 7:00PM on NBCSN and AT&T SportsNet. The Penguins await the winner of the Capitals / Blue Jackets series. Hopefully that series goes seven games and both teams manage to kill each other.
Crosby passes Lemieux for most playoff points in franchise history - video courtesy of USA All Sports.
A closer look...yikes.
Sidney Crosby is a man on a mission. He has 69 points so far this series.
With Crosby's wraparound goal in Game 4, he has surpassed Mario Lemieux for most playoff points all-time in franchise history (173).
Matt Murray got his 2nd shutout of the series and his 4th in his last 6 playoff games
Murray is now the fastest goaltender to 25 wins in the postseason, he did so in just 36 games which is absolutely incredible.
Speaking of Matt Murray he was shaken up at one point during practice yesterday. He was apparently fine afterwards.
Sean Coutyusdcuntobjdlcsd is probably going to be a game-time decision.
Patric Hornqvist will not play tonight due to an upper-body injury.
Hopefully this series is finished tonight for multiple reasons. The most important reason being so we never have to hear that stupid worthless dead cow Kate Smith and her shit offspring Lauren Hart butcher the absolute piss out of America The Beautiful again.
For those keeping track at home...
