Death. Taxes. The Penguins playing the Capitals in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. That is where we are. For the third time in as many years the Penguins and Capitals will meet for a chance to go to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Penguins finally rid themselves of those orange and black scumbags and fat dead Kate Smith after an 8-5 win in Game Six. The ISIS supporting Washington Capitals dispatched fellow ISIS supporters, the Columbus Blue Jackets in six games as well. These two teams took totally different paths to get to the second round. The Pens jumped out early on the Flyers and were ahead for most of the series. The Caps however fell behind 2-0 on Columbus before taking four straight, three of which were on the road. Braden Holtby decided he remembered how to play hockey again after losing his starting job to Philipp Grubauer to start the playoffs. After going 0-2 the Caps turned to Braden Holtby who won then won four straight games to finish off the Blue Jackets. Holtby had been feeling good about himself after game six, but then he remembered the Penguins own beachfront property inside his head and has been waking up with the night sweats recently.
Puck drops tonight just after 7:00PM on NBCSN. Since the NHL is the worst run league out of the major four, here are the rest of the dates and times for the series. You know, two days late.
No Evgeni Malkin or Carl Hagelin for the Penguins tonight. Malkin made the trip with the Penguins however, while Hagelin did not.
Malkin did skate today prior to practice, he was wearing a no-contact jersey.
For those of you who hated the Brassard trade, imagine without Malkin... Crosby, Sheahan, Rowney, Jooris down the middle. YIKES.
Every Stanley Cup the Penguins have won, they've had to go through Washington.
Overall the Penguins are 9-1 in series against the Washington Capitals. They have won the last seven.
Holocaust denier TJ Oshie hasn't been practicing for the Caps. He may be injured which would be a real shame honestly. (I hope to God your sarcasm detectors are working).
The Caps will be without Andre Burakovsky for part of this series. He is "injured" but we all know he's fulfilling his duties to ISIS
Tom Wilson is still unfortunately alive and he still drinks pee.
What costs more? Ovi's lease on the LW half wall or the Penguins fans mansion inside the Washington Capitals Organization's heads. The Caps are doing all they can to keep Pens fans out of whatever the name of the Caps building is anymore because it isn't Verizon Center and I honestly don't care enough to look it up.
Here is something to make your pants a little tighter or wetter if you are a female. The trio of Derick Brassard, Bryan Rust, and Conor Sheary are going to see a large dose of Brooks Orpik and whoever they Caps decide is going to be his partner.
Jake Guentzel and Sidney Crosby both sit atop the postseason points leaderboard with 13.
Hold onto your butts.
