Well here we are. Game 3 of 82.The Penguins (1-1-0) play host to the Vegas Golden Knights (1-3-0). The Pens enter tonights game having scored 8 goals but allowing 11. For the first time in the 2018-19 season, we will see a new starting goalie for the Pens, as Matt Murray is once again injured (Concussion). Casey DeSmith is scheduled to start in net, barring any last minute switch. Tristan Jarry will be the backup, as he was recalled from the AHL. To make room for Jarry, the Pens have placed forward Derek Grant on waivers with the purpose of sending him to the AHL. DeSmith (wearing #1), went 6-4-1 in 14 games last season, his rookie year. He did not see any postseason action. He did post 1 shutout and a 2.40 GAA in his limited time.
Rumors have been out there that Mike Sullivan could make a switch on the defensive pairings, with Olli Maatta reportedly headed to the bench for Juuso Riikola, who would make his NHL debut. This hasn't been confirmed. No other lineup changes are expected. For the Golden Knights, their second season in the league has gotten off to pretty much the exact opposite of last season. Vegas is currently (1-3-0) after losing to Washington in a Stanley Cup rematch. Old friend Marc-Andre Fleury will not start tonight for them as Malcolm Subban will get his first start of the season. If Subban plays like he did last season and in his 30 minutes of action this season, the Penguins could be in trouble as Subban really surprised people with his solid performances during his first extended time in the NHL. But, then again, he could go back to his Bruins days, and completely lose control.
**Stripes may or may not be updated come puck drop**
Casey DeSmith will make his season debut in net for PIT.
Murray did skate this morning but he is unable to go tonight.
Vegas went from having a team full of former Penguins to having 3 I think. I am too lazy to go look tbh.
Conor Sheary is still no longer a Penguin - we are still thrilled.
The Stripes section may or may not be updated prior to game-time.
Honestly, the Penguins kept the wrong goalie.
I hope Ryan Reaves beats the living piss out of every player on the Penguins tonight.
Vegas center Paul Stastny is week-to-week with a lower-body injury. He's kinda good so this is good news for the Pens.

Speaking of disappointment, here's the Penguins new third jerseys. You can find the games they plan to wear them on their website. They debut November 15th.
Do it. Go Pens.
