The Penguins (25-13-6) continue their West Coast Swing tonight as they travel to LA to take on the abysmal Kings (17-25-3). The Pens are coming off a 7-4 victory over the equally abysmal Anaheim Ducks. The difference between the Ducks and the Kings? The Kings have a bunch of players that should be on Homeland Security's watch list. In the Kings last game they.....ehh who the hell cares. The Kings are terrible and we honestly could care less what they did in their last game. That being said, expect them to win tonight because if you have learned anything this season, the Penguins will either lose or struggle mightily before either squeaking out a win or ultimately losing to bad teams.
Like we said earlier, the Penguins won last night in Anaheim 7-4. They fell behind 3-0 early when the goat Daniel Sprong willed the Ducks to a 2-0 lead before he ultimately made it 3-0 at the end of the 1st. The Penguins would battle back in the 2nd behind 2 goals from Jake Guentzel and a goal by Evgeni Malkin. The Ducks would eventually take the lead back when Daniel Sprong willed Jakub Silfverberg to a short handed breakaway and helped him score to give the Ducks a 4-3 lead going into the 3rd. The shot by Silfverberg was so good that Matt Murray didn't even know it went in. In the 3rd, the Pens just imposed their will on the Ducks. They got goals from Tanner Pearson (2), Phil Kessel, and an empty-netter from Jake Guentzel to give him the hat trick, his second of the season.
The Penguins are 10-1-0 over their last 11 games, outscoring opponents 47-19.
Carl Hagelin, who was injured the last time these two teams met and may still be injured for all we know, used to play for the Penguins. Expect to hear about that 69,000 times tonight.
Speaking of Swedes, still no Patric Hornqvist tonight.
Tanner Pearson used to play for the Kings. Expect to hear that 911,420 times tonight.
Could we get a Pearson tribute video tonight?
Pearson scored 69 career goals with the Kings and that's #nice.
If you weren't aware, the Kings suck.
Entering tonight, they have the worst record in the NHL at 17-25-3.
Jonathan Quick already threw about 1113 temper tantrums.
Drew Doughty also probably threw 1271942 temper tantrums as well.
The Pens have won something like 9 of their last 10 games or something ridiculous like that.
The Pens won in overtime the last time these teams met. Drew Doughty just broke another stick thinking about it.
Jake Guentzel is currently riding a five game scoring streak with 8 points (5 goals, 3 assists) during the stretch.
In addition, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Marcus Pettersson are riding five game scoring streaks as well.
Daniel Sprong is still the best player in the NHL.
Dion Phaneuf sucks.
We are probably gonna get great guy Casey DeSmith vs Piss Baby Jonathan Quick tonight.
