Hellllloooooooo everybodyyyyyy, tonight the Penguins (32-21-7) look to make it three wins in a row when they take on a very good San Jose Sharks team (35-17-8) that absolutely dominated them last time out. Puck drop is just after 7pm from PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins are coming off their 2019 version of 'Miracle on Ice' having finally defeated the New Jersey Devils this season. The Pens beat them by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday night thanks largely in part Nick Bjugstad and Chad Ruhwedel, who both recorded goals in the game. The Pens will turn to their 'backup' goalie and overall great guy Casey DeSmith tonight.
Folks, the Sharks are good. The last time these two teams squared off back on January 15th, the Sharks beat them by a final score of 5-2. Make no mistake, if you remember this game, the Sharks absolutely dominated and it could have realistically been a 15-2 final. Entering tonight, San Jose is second in the Pacific Division trailing only the Calgary Flames and they come into this game having won eight of their last ten games. The Sharks are led by defenseman Brent Burns who has 65 points (11G,55A) in 60 games. Martin Jones is expected to start in goal for San Jose.
Never forget - Sidney Crosby cheats.
Pens fans will see Erik Karlsson as a member of the Sharks for the first time this year.
The Sharks are 14-4-1 over their last 19 games and I'm pretty sure that's good.
Speaking of good, Sidney Crosby is currently riding a six game point streak.
During this streak, he has 2 goals and 10 assists.
Apparently Evgeni Malkin tied Pavel Datsyuk last game for third most assists by a Russian born player with 604.
The final game before the Stadium Series against the god awful piss-baby Flyers on Saturday.
LMAO Radko Gudas got suspended two games for high-sticking Nikita Kucherov and Flyers fans were upset to say the least.
HAHAHA The Capitals waived Devante Smith-Pelley just to trade for former Penguin winger Carl Hagelin.
My take: Carl Hagelin sucks and his career is pretty much over. That said, it's going to be unreal when he eliminates the Penguins after scoring glove side on Matt Murray in Game Six.
Speaking of goaltending, Good Guy Casey DeSmith gets the nod tonight.
Murray's third goal that he allowed against the Devils was sooooooo bad lol.
Hockey is for Everyone, except Jack Johnson.
