Hellllllooooooo everybodddddddyyyyy, tonight the Penguins conclude their home and home mini series against the 'all-in' Columbus Blue Jackets, this time from Nationwide Arena. Puck drop is set for just after 7pm.
The Penguins are coming off a big win Thursday night against the Jackets by a score of 3-0 and don't look now but Pittsburgh has earned points in six straight games, going 4-0-2 during that stretch. Phil Kessel finally scored a goal, his first in 17 games. The building nearly erupted when Phil made it 1-0. Nick Bjugstad and Sidney Crosby also scored in the game. Crosby actually hit an empty-netter so the end of the world may be upon us.
Tonight the Penguins look to sweep the season series against the "all-in" Columbus Blue Jackets. To say this game is huge for Columbus is an understatement. CBJ is currently four points behind the Penguins in the standings and out of the playoffs. Columbus has not beat the Pens in eight straight attempts and is a measly 0-9-1 over their last ten games against Pittsburgh. Columbus turns to Sergei Bobrovsky in net tonight. If you recall, he was scratched Thursday because John Tortorella is an idiot and because Bob seems to implode every time he faces the Penguins. I'm honestly stunned CBJ is not going to that emoji tweeting scumbag Keith Kinkaid considering that he normally dominates the Penguins.
Matt Murray is set to oppose Bobrovsky in goal tonight.
LMAO, per the Penguins, Mike Sullivan is 11-1-1 against the Blue Jackets since joining the Pens.
Honestly, this game may determine Columbus's season. It's very important that we win and make them mad in the process.
Hot take but now that Phil got off the schneid, he's going to score 100 goals.
Coming into tonight, Evgeni Malkin is three points away from becoming the 88th player in the NHL history to record 1,000 points.
Speaking of which, Malkin is currently riding an eight game point streak with 10 points (3G, 7A) during that stretch.
Gotta imagine if CBJ doesn't make the playoffs Torts gets fired?
No Letang and Maatta. Letang skated back in Pittsburgh and Maatta took the ice prior to the morning skate.
Continue to follow us on @PensOfAnarchy69 as we're suspended until Tuesday around the second period...
Honestly, if the Penguins are gonna do the damn thing, this is just as much as a 'must win' for them
