Helloooooooooooo everyyyyyboddddddyyyyy, how areeeeeeeee ya? Tonight the Penguins (41-24-11) conclude their four game road trip when they take on piss-baby Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers (29-32-13). Puck drop is set for 7pm from Madison Square Garden.
Folks, the Penguins came away with a big 3-2 win Saturday night in Dallas. Jared McCann showed that he was superhuman, scoring a spin-o-rama goal comparable to that of only teammate Evgeni Malkin. That marked McCann's second goal of the game and his 11th as a member of the Penguins. Pittsburgh also did the impossible and maintained a one goal lead throughout the duration of the third period despite a relentless effort by the Stars. The Penguins usually beat the Rangers every time out so expect the Rangers to win handedly tonight because I wrote this. So far this season, the Pens are 2-0 against the Rags and 14-5-1 against them under Mike Sullivan including in the playoffs.
Speaking of the Rags, they're pretty bad. Clearly in rebuilding mode, they sit 13th out of 16 Eastern Conference teams with a lowly 71 points on the season. They'll be without scumbag and notorious goaltender-runner Chris Kreider who is sidelined with a lower-body injury and will miss his second straight game. Honestly, I'd tell you to be wary of a few players on the Rangers but I don't know many of them, considering they dealt half their team at the deadline. I do know that they have a Lemieux on their team and I can confirm that he's nowhere near as good as Mario.
Expect Matt Murray to oppose anyone not named Henrik Lundqvist in goal tonight. Keep in mind that Lundqvist has PTSD when it comes to playing the Pens and since the infamous net flip way back on March 3rd, 2016, Lundqvist has lost in eight straight outings against the Penguins.
No Kris Letang tonight, per Mike Sullivan. He's out with an upper-body injury. Death, taxes and Kris Letang injuries. The three guarantees in life.
Per the Penguins, Matt Murray is a perfect 5-0 against the Rangers including 4-0 at Madison Square Garden.
Jared McCann already has three - two goal games as a Penguin. That is incredible.
McCann is everything we thought that Derick Brassard would be. Brassard sucks.
Entering tonight, the Penguins sit at third place in the Metrosexual Division with 93 points, two behind the Isles for second place. The Islanders are idle tonight but play the Blue Jackets in a game that could likely define CBJ's season tomorrow night.
Henrik Lundqvist is a piss-baby. If, for some miraculous reason he starts tonight, look for him to whine all night.
Apparently, per DK Pittsburgh Sports, Malkin has resumed skating so that's reassuring.
