Tristan Jarry is my Dad. Just wanted to get that out there right off the hop. The Pens are back in action today with an afternoon tilt against the Detroit Red Wings. Puck is set to drop from PPG Paints Arena just after 12:30PM.
The Red Wings come into today's game with a 14-41-4 record. They have lost 3 out of their last 5 and are coming off a 4-1 loss to Bruins last night.
The Penguins are coming into today's game with a 35-15-6 record and are coming off a 4-1 win against Montreal on Friday night. The Pens received goals from Kris Letang, Jason Zucker (2), and Zach Aston-Reese. Tristan Jarry was spectacular once again making 34 saves on 35 shots. Sidney Crosby and Jason Zucker started to find some chemistry together. Felt like they were constantly in Montreal's mouth all night when Dominik Simon wasn't getting in the way. It has the makings of a very nice partnership between the two of them. It's a shame Jake Guentzel is out and could't be a part of that line too. Then again, if Guentzel doesn't get hurt maybe GMJR doesn't make the Zucker trade. Regardless it will be interesting to see how Crosby and Zucker continue to mesh as the season winds down.
As for today's game.....I got nothing really. The Wings suck ass and this is just not a very interesting match up anymore. With that said, pretty excited for the Wings to win 4-1.
Third jerseys today
Totally expecting Murray vs......I don't even know who plays goal for Detroit anymore. Jimmy Howard maybe? Honestly who cares. Jarry should 100% be starting today but I can understand why Sullivan would turn to Murray again.
Jason Zucker is good.
The Red Wings are not good.
Something about it being cold in the D.
Sidney Crosby has been lighting things up since his return. I think I heard a stat that he has 17 points in 11 games since his return. It could be 18 or 19 in 12 after Friday. Either way, that's pretty good.
Did I tell you Tristan Jarry is my Dad?
Dominik Kahun may be close to returning soon so that's cool.
Nick Bjugstad skated. Also cool, I guess.
Is Brian Dumoulin alive? Answers on a postcard please.
