1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Five is the number of games the Penguins have currently lost in a row after dropping last night's contest to Anaheim 3-2. If you're keeping track at home that is 0-2 on the California trip and 0-2 against two teams out of the playoffs with the third one coming tonight.
This five game losing skid isn't happening for lack of effort. The Penguins have severely outplayed both L.A. and Anaheim recently, and on most nights are going to win those games. Adam Gretz pointed out that the Pens have hit 6 posts in the last 2 games. They lost both of those games by one goal. Right now the bounces aren't going the Penguins way. It doesn't help that they have six defensemen that handle the puck likes its a live grenade. It also doesn't help that Head Coach Mike Sullivan is hellbent on playing Zach Trotman for some reason as opposed to playing Juuso Riikola who has actually played quite well in the short amount of time he's gotten to play this season. But hey. Let's keep trotting Zach Trotman out there and making him play on his off side, or Justin Schultz who doesn't have a point since electricity was invented. The bounces will eventually start to go the Penguins way. It's only a matter of time and when they do, then maybe this team will be able to sort their shit out finally. It would also help if Brian Dumoulin and John Marino would return to the lineup.
Expect Tristan Jarry vs Martin Jones in net tonight.
Patrick Marleau homecoming x2.
If you're bored and don't want to watch the Penguins lose their sixth straight game then you can watch AEW's PPV Revolution.
If you insist on torturing yourself and watching the Pens then it's gonna be another late one. Grab a few energy drinks.
The game is in San Jose so I'm sure you'll hear about the Pens winning the cup there in 2016 152 times.
Speaking of things that will get run into the ground Steve Mears will probably tell you that Patrick Marleau is a former Shark until your ears bleed.
The Penguins lost the first matchup of the season to the Sharks back on January 2nd by a score of 3-2.
No Erik Karlsson tonight. He's out with a broken thumb.
Jarry vs Jones probably.
If the Pens win tonight we'll give one follower who reads this tweets us a high-five
On a positive note. Jason Zucker had 2 goals last night, making it 5 for his Penguin career now.
