Tonight the Penguins will host the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena with face-off set for just after 7:00PM. The Penguins are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night, with Scott Wilson tallying the only Penguin goal.
Coming into tonight's game, there are essentially two, maybe three things you need to know: Yesterday the Penguins trimmed the training camp roster, reassigning 21 players to Wilkes-Barre Scranton. Notable players include Zach Aston-Reese, Daniel Sprong, and goaltender Tristin Jarry. The second thing you need to know is that center Greg McKegg (best name in the game) may damn well be your 4th line center to start the season. I'm pretty sure Sullivan has played him every game so far this preseason and they enjoy what they see. Lastly, you need to understand that it's still the preseason. Some of your takes on the internet have been great but coming off back-to-back Stanley Cups, I think you can chill with bashing the defense, at least for another few months.
The Penguins have released their lineup for tonight's game and it is as follows:
If Hornqvist isn't ready by opening night, the lineup used above could be your banner raising lineup vs St.Louis on October 4th.
Derrick Pouliot is still really bad at hockey.
The Penguins accepted a visit to the White House. This made a lot of people mad, so I'm absolutely a fan of the decision because I love seeing people mad.
It's weird to see referees actually calling penalties and enforcing rules. I expect this to change fairly soon because the NHL doesn't like to enforce rules.
The Penguins signed undrafted free agent Sam Miletic to a three year entry-level contract.
Apparently Miletic played in 100 regular season games for the London Knights of the OHL over the last two seasons and tallied a total of 69 points.
I want to see Ryan Reaves kill someone and then fight someone tonight.
