Well folks after a few days off, the Penguins (13-10-3) are back in action tonight against the god awful Buffalo Sabres (6-15-4) from KeyBank Center in Buffalo with puck drop set for just after 7:00PM tonight. This game will be fun for several reasons, and I will list them below:
1.) Us here at Pens of Anarchy are taking a road trip and will be at the game tonight. No idea if we'll remember the game or anything because we're going to pregame hard, and party hard during the game. Either way, we'll be in attendance.
2.) If all goes well, forward Evgeni Malkin should return to the lineup after missing just four games. It comes as a relief to us all though.
3.) The Penguins are playing the first of a back-to-back, home and home series against the Sabres, with the second game slated for tomorrow night in Pittsburgh. The Sabres are bad, so hopefully the Penguins can take both games, and hopefully with ease.
After a 5-4 overtime win against the scumbag trash bag city of Philadelphia on Monday night, the Penguins are back at it again. This time on the road against the Buffalo Sabres. As mentioned above, the Sabres are bad. They are coming into tonight's game with just one win in their last ten contests, going 1-7-2 during that stretch. In their two most recent games, the Sabres have been shutout both times, falling 3-0 to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday and 2-0 to the Lightning on Tuesday.
The only downside to this game and possibly the next few weeks is the fact the Penguins will be without the league's best goaltender in Matt Murray. The Penguins will go with Tristan Jarry as their number one goalie for the time being, with Casey DeSmith backing him up. Murray was injured Monday night when degenerate low-life piece of scum, chode burglar, terrorist, and all-around douche bag Jakub Voracek went hard to the net, taking out Murray's knee. If you can't tell, I'm mad. Either way, here's what we're expecting in terms of lineups for tonight's game.
**Refs probably won't be updated because we'll be at some random bar in the 716 getting turnt. Yolo.**
I should worry about my own team, but the Flyers have now lost nine straight games and I'm starting to have faith in God again. After their 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday, the Flyers were boo'd off the ice by their own fans. My heart is happy.
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, we'll be in the good 716 for tonight's game. If you know anything about Buffalo in terms of recommendations on where to drink or eat, OR you simply want an autograph, please feel free to follow along with us on Twitter, @PensOfAnarchy (click the link).
As mentioned above, expect Evgeni Malkin to play tonight. He practiced in full yesterday. If Malkin plays, expect Greg McKegg to be out of the lineup tonight.
Speaking of playing, expect Ian Cole to be in the lineup tonight. He's been a healthy scratch the last three games. He was paired with Justin Schultz in practice on Thursday.
Speaking of Justin Schultz, it appears as if he's taken Letang's spot on the first powerplay unit. That's a good call.
We made people mad on twitter.com because we put a Crying Jordan face on Andrew McCutchen's new baby, Steel. I'd say that's a good day for the Internet. The Pirates also blocked us, which we can't express how truly happy we are about that.
It'll be a STEEL (yeah I know it's misspelled) when the San Francisco Giants trade for McCutchen.
If only their front office was as proactive as their Twitter running folks.
We also did a podcast on Tuesday night. You can listen to it here. In the podcast, we discuss being back-to-back champs, a potential three-peat, Ian Cole, Matt Murray, your mom, and some other burning hot topics.
Remember when Dan Bylsma coached the Sabres and then Jack Eichel ran him out of town? Good times.
Evander Kane leads the Sabres in points with 23, but I feel like that's easy to do when I haven't heard of 86.69% of their roster.
Nothing else to write, we're probably drinking.
