Helllllllllllooooooooooooo everyboddddddy! Tonight the Penguins (37-22-9) travel to Buffalo to take on the Sabres (30-30-9) for the final time this season. Puck drop is set for just after 7pm from the KeyBank Center.
The Pens are coming off a thrilling 5-3 victory vs the Capitals on Tuesday in which Evgeni Malkin finally collected his 1,000th point. Also, Sidney Crosby had two goals including a sweet breakaway that made it seem like Caps goalie Braden Holtby wanted to give Sid a hug, when in reality Holtby was just trying to brace for contact, but instead got embarrassed by Sid. Erik Gudbranson almost murdered Tom Wilson but the stripes got in there to break it up. Don't look now but Gudbranson might be 'The Piece.'
You know it's bad when Conor Sheary is your hottest player. Sheary has five points over the last six games and if you can remember, Sheary single handedly defeated the Penguins back on March 1st in overtime with a rocket of a shot over Matt Murray. Honestly, Buffalo sucks and they're not making the playoffs but yet they've defeated the Penguins twice this season in overtime so these are the games you need to be wary of. The Penguins control their destiny from here on out and have a favorable schedule the rest of the way.
Expect Good Guy Casey DeSmith vs Carter Hutton in net tonight.
Both myself and @ZackMorris82 are making the three hour trip to Buffalo for the game.
Buffalo has 69 points through 69 games. Nice.
Tomas Survovy > Conor Sheary > Conor Sharry
Don't be surprised if Casey DeSmith starts this one.
Kris Letang may play tonight but who knows.
Jake Guentzel has 10 points over his last six games (6G, 4A).
Sidney Crosby now has 90 points for the first time since 2013-14.
No Jack Eichel tonight. He was suspended two games for trying to decapitate Carl Soderberg
Jeff Skinner hasn't scored a goal in 12 goals so expect a hat trick tonight.
Tom Wilson is a terrorist.
If you're in Buffalo for the game, hit us up on Twitter and we'll try to meet up.
As we speak, the Pens are four points out of first in the Metrosexual, but are also four points above being tied for the last Wild Card spot.
Since we are in Buffalo, we get the special treatment of having the best national anthem played in the world, "O'Canada...."
