The finale of the home-and-home series with the Predators is here and god only knows what is going to happen tonight. Last night the Penguins went to Nashville and beat the Predators 5-2 behind another strong performance from Tristan Jarry and received goals from some unlikely people. Dominik Simon (3), Alex Galchenyuk (3), Teddy Blueger (5), Bryan Rust (14), and Juuso Riikola (1), led Pittsburgh to chase Pekka Rinne early in the game and never looked back.
Rinne allowed 3 goals on 6 shots before being replaced. Saros came in and allowed 2 goals on 19 shots. If I was a betting man, Rinne starts tonight against Matt Murray, so expect a lot of goals from both teams.
Late in the game, Nashville decided they wanted to start taking some cheap shots, so watch for a decent amount of Power Plays, 4 on 4's, etc. Pittsburgh had all but 4 players get points last night, including Kris Letang who made more bad plays than good ones.
Pittsburgh is third in the Metro with a record of 22-11-4, for 48 points, which is one behind the New York Islanders.
Nashville is 18-13-6, for 42 points, which puts them on the outside of the playoff race currently.
Third jerseys tonight.
Patric Hornqvist was activated from injured reserve this morning. As a corresponding move, the Pens sent forward Thomas Di Pauli back down to Wilkes-Barre. He'll likely be a game-time decision, as am I.
Nashville sucks. Love the city. Hate the team.
Expect the same lineup for them tonight minus former Penguins defenseman Dan Hamhuis, who took a puck up high last night.
Matt Murray will likely start, meaning the Penguins will likely lose.
Matt Duchene sucks this season. He has just 24 points (8G, 16A) through 36 games played.
Roman Josi lost his goal streak at 5 last night.
Pekka Rinne just got scored on again.
Nashville Hot Chicken >>>>
Let's go Pens.
Pls don't break my heart tonight.
